The Lone Star College System Board of Trustees announced that it has identified two finalists for consideration to become the next LSCS chancellor.

Burke received his Ph.D. in educational administration from the Community College Leadership Program at the University of Texas at Austin and M.A. and B.A. in English from the University of Houston.
Stephen C. Head, Ph.D., has served as the president, Lone Star College-North Harris since 2007. The finalists will interview with the Board of Trustees and hold open forums at each of the six LSCS college campuses on June 9 and 10. Specific times and locations will be announced.
All comments at the June 9 and 10 open forums will be put in writing for the Board of Trustee’s consideration. Following the open forums, the Board of Trustees will select the lone finalist and will announce the selection. The final decision must be public for 21 days before it is official.

Dr. Richard Carpenter, current chancellor, announced in February that he is retiring as chancellor this summer.
Search consultant Gold Hill Associates, who has assisted LSCS in the search, conducted open forums at each of the six Lone Star Colleges to solicit recommendations and comments from faculty, staff and students, which was then recorded and presented in writing to the search committee.
The search committee, comprised of chairman Dave Holsey, trustees Robert Adam, Priscilla Kelly and Ron Trowbridge, interviewed six semifinalist candidates and has selected these two finalists based on those interviews.
